Youth Club Co-ordinator (Senior Club)

Job Title: Youth Club Co-ordinator (Senior Club)

Hours: 40 hours per week (including evenings & weekends)

Salary: £26,104 to £28,350 depending on experience

Location: HideOut Youth Zone

Now two years into its delivery and open 7 days a week, including school holidays, HideOut Youth Zone’s purpose is to help young people grow to be happy, healthy and successful adults. Our state-of-the-art £6.6 million building provides young people with somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to. Facilities include a 3G pitch, climbing wall, gym, sports hall and recreation area, and dance, arts, music and media suites. As HideOut moves into the next stage of its journey, the next three years will see the evolvement of the delivery, facilities and opportunities for young people across Manchester.

THE ROLE

As a lead member of the delivery team you will work across all Youth Zone sessions and have lead responsibility for the Senior Club offer to 13-19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs) year olds, ensuring there is a high-quality, creative and fun offer, which focuses on the needs of young people and is in line with HideOut Youth Zone’s aspirations to provide young people with the best possible experiences and opportunities. You will have a passion to put young people first.  You will be responsible for the continuous improvement of the delivery and input towards the strategic delivery plan for HideOut Youth Zone. This is a fun, exciting and challenging role in a growing and ambitious charity where with up to 200 young people attending a session no two days will ever be the same.

THE PERSON

You will:

  • Have proven experience of working with young people aged 13 to 19 (25 for those with additional needs) in a range of settings, including open access youth work
  • Be able to engage vulnerable, disengaged or hard to reach young people
  • Have experience of managing a staff team including volunteers and experience of dealing with safeguarding issues within a multi-agency setting
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to young people and have the ability to engage and build positive relationships
  • Be passionate about the aims and mission of HideOut Youth Zones and East Manchester

THE ROLE

To design and deliver a programme of activities for young people that is inclusive, supports community cohesion and provides an environment where members from diverse demographics, ethnic communities, and those with disabilities feel safe, involved and welcome. To diversify and grow participation rates to ensure engagement is representative of the demographics of East Manchester and surrounding areas. To carry out targeted outreach and partnership work across the region to promote HideOut Youth Zone and gain an understanding of and work to overcome any barriers to participation.

THE PERSON

You will have extensive proven experience of:

  • Working with young people aged 8 to 19 years – and up to 25 for those with additional needs – in a range of settings, including open access youth work
  • Championing children and young people with challenging behaviour and complex needs and supporting them to play an active role in their communities
  • Managing a staff team including volunteers and experience of dealing with safeguarding issues within a multi-agency setting
  • Designing and delivering a programme of youth work activities in an open access setting
  • Be passionate about the aims and mission of HideOut Youth Zones and East Manchester.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to shape and create a first-class programme of creative arts activities for the young people of Manchester.  You will design and deliver arts activities for young people as well as provide direct line management support, coaching, and development for arts sessional workers and volunteers to ensure our members receive the highest quality provision. The post-holder will oversee HideOut’s creative arts offer making best use of our performing arts studio, music room, film and multi-media room, arts, crafts and fashion suite as well as leading on art-based events. The role will utilise art in the wider youth work agenda, supporting and encouraging young people to express themselves, explore issues and facilitate personal development. This will include planning and delivery, with support of the wider team.

THE PERSON

Candidates must:

  • Have extensive experience of delivering creative arts activities to young people aged 8 to 19 (or up to 25 for those with additional needs) in a variety of settings and in line with relevant guidance and good practice
  • Activity or arts leadership/coaching qualifications as well as a relevant experience in a range of arts mediums (ideally two or more, e.g. dance, music, photography, performing or creative arts etc)
  • Be able to engage vulnerable, disengaged or hard to reach young people
  • Have experience of managing a staff team including volunteers and experience of dealing with safeguarding issues within a multi-agency setting
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to young people and have the ability to engage and build positive relationships
  • Be passionate about the aims and mission of HideOut Youth Zones and East Manchester.

THE ROLE

A rare opportunity has arisen to join the prestigious HideOut Youth Zone team in a vital and highly rewarding operational role. Our Finance & Administration Assistants are responsible for the charity’s day-to-day financial activities including recording/processing member transactions, issuing supporter invoices, raising purchase orders and processing supplier payments, reconciling transactions, as well as supporting the Business Administration Manager and Finance Manager with Management Accounts related tasks.  They also play a crucial role through the provision of first-class administrative support to the Business Administration Manager and wider Senior Leadership Team in the areas of recruitment, HR and maintaining membership records.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a finance-related role that was responsible for general day-to-day finance tasks
  • Wide-ranging admin experience in a fast-paced environment/s
  • Highly developed IT skills: working knowledge of accounting software (essential) such as Sage 50, intermediate/advanced user of Microsoft Office (essential) and database experience (desirable)
  • Have excellent organisational skills and an ability to cope with multiple demands and deadlines
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency in mind
  • Be passionate about the aims and mission of HideOut Youth Zone and demonstrate a clear commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
