The Bruntwood Charity has become the latest supporter of HideOut Youth Zone by making a significant Founder Patron pledge to the brand-new young people’s charity which opened in Manchester this Septem-ber.

Since 2011, The Bruntwood Charity have supported the Harpurhey based Manchester Youth Zone, and was inspired to extend their support to a second Youth Zone in the City, HideOut which aims to provide thou-sands of young Mancunians with somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to. In partnership with Bruntwood, the charity supports the Youth Zones by engaging volunteers in mentoring and careers workshops, and through initiatives like the Christmas Wishing Tree Campaign run across Manchester last year.

The Bruntwood Charity will join HideOut’s family of Founder Patrons, a group of local businesses and philan-thropists who are united in support of young people and their ambition to see Manchester flourish. Every penny of their donation will go directly towards supporting young people to lead healthier, happier, more aspirational lives.

The state-of-the-art Youth Zone will offer young people from Manchester access to an indoor climbing wall, 3G kick pitch, four court sports hall, dance and drama studio, training kitchen, arts and crafts space, fully equipped gym, music room with recording studio, enterprise suite and much more.

Having just opened last month, HideOut Youth Zone is open for young people aged between 8 and 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs. The Youth Zone’s opening offer has been adapted in line with COVID-19 guidance, to ensure young people can enjoy the wide range of opportunities on offer. Young people will pay just £5 per year to be a member and then only 50p every time they visit which will include access to over 20 fun and engaging activities every night.

HideOut Youth Zone is being developed in partnership with OnSide Youth Zones, Manchester City Council and the local business community. The Youth Zone’s £6.6million building costs were jointed funded by local philanthropist Fred Done and Manchester City Council.

Kate Vokes, Trustee of The Bruntwood Charity said: “We know the new Youth Zone in Manchester will benefit young people, the community, and their families for years to come, and we are delighted to be able to support this fantastic charity and provide new opportunities for the next generation.”

Adam Farricker, Chief Executive of HideOut Youth Zone said: “We are thrilled to welcome The Brunt-wood Charity to HideOut’s family of Founder Patrons. We know COVID-19 has had a real impact on local young people, which makes the opening of HideOut Youth Zone even more in important. We are proud to support young people in our communities in partnership with The Bruntwood Charity.”
