Over the past twelve months work has progressed well on-site of East Manchester’s brand-new Youth Zone, with construction of the £6.6million HideOut Youth Zone on schedule to complete this Spring.
Located on Hyde Road in Belle Vue, HideOut Youth Zone will offer young people aged 8-19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs, somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to, 7 days a week.
For just 50p per visit, members will have access to a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities including an indoor climbing wall, 3G kick pitch, skate park, music room with recording studio, arts and crafts studio, training kitchen, employability suite, four court sports hall, fully equipped gym, dance and drama studio, media room, martial arts gym and much more.
Construction of HideOut Youth Zone started in January last year and is due to officially open in Summer 2020.
Over the upcoming weeks, the external façade and signage will be completed, with attention then turning to the internal fit out including the installation of the indoor climbing wall, sports hall and skate park.
Following the completion of the build this spring, the internal furniture, fixtures and equipment will be installed, ahead of the Youth Zone’s official opening this summer.
The internal walls of the Youth Zone will be brought to life by artwork designed by local young people.
Adam Farricker, Chief Executive of HideOut Youth Zone said: “In just a few months, HideOut Youth Zone will welcome thousands of young people through its doors. I know it will make a tremendous difference to the lives of local young people. I’d like to say a huge thank you to our supporters who have made HideOut Youth Zone a reality for young Mancunians.”
