HideOut Youth Zone has reached the milestone of 5,000 members within two years of opening

HideOut Youth Zone has reached a new membership milestone and has successfully reached 5000 members!

Located in Gorton, East Manchester, HideOut Youth Zone is dedicated to supporting young people by providing three things which all young people need and deserve – somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.

Open to young people aged 8-19 and up to 25 for those with additional needs, the Youth Zone gives young people from a diverse range of backgrounds access to incredible facilities in a vibrant, purpose-built space packed with engaging activities, the opportunity to make friends, develop new skills, unlock their potential and have fun, all for just 50p per visit!

With the official opening taking place mid-Covid-19 pandemic, HideOut has faced multiple challenges in implementing its full offer for young people, including two lockdowns and restricted provisions set in line with the National Youth Agency guidelines. HideOut removed its final Covid-19 restriction in March 2022 with the end of the Junior Club booking system and has been running at full capacity since this time.

CEO of HideOut Youth Zone, Adam Farricker, said:

“I’m so proud of what we have achieved since opening in the peak of the pandemic in the most difficult of circumstances!

“It’s been an incredible journey so far and I want to thank everyone who has supported us throughout, whether that’s through fundraising, volunteering, engaging with us in any way, or just encouraging others to come and see what’s going on here.

“And finally, to our members. None of this would mean anything without your commitment to HideOut. It’s been amazing to watch these young people grow and develop over this time. I’m looking forward to welcoming the next 5000 children and young people through our doors!”

Speaking to HideOut members, they shared feedback on their time at the Youth Zone:

“I never imagined a place like this existing before I first saw the website, I thought it was a scam and wasn’t true”

“HideOut has helped both my mental health and my confidence levels by introducing me to new opportunities and more activities.”
